Educating girls with disabilities

This study brief, based on an independent evaluation, examines how projects under the Girls’ Education Challenge Phase II (GEC II) supported girls with disabilities and the outcomes of these interventions. Covering 41 projects across 17 countries, the GEC II programme aims to improve learning opportunities for one million marginalised out-of-school girls around the world, specifically through the Girls’ Education Challenge – Transition and Leave No Girl Behind funding windows. The brief provides key findings, including from three detailed case studies, and recommendations to strengthen disability-inclusive education and makes a case for active community participation as a particularly effective strategy to support this outcome.
