LGBT+ rights and rollback: an infographic

LGBT+ rights face alarming setbacks worldwide, even as progress continues in some areas. One-third of countries still criminalise same-sex relationships, and censorship, attacks on LGBT+ freedoms and restrictions on gender identity are on the rise.

This infographic offers a global snapshot of LGBT+ rights in 2025, from legal recognition to growing threats, to highlight the urgent need for action. Please note: all data is accurate as of 25 March 2025.
