Rollback on gender equality and women and girls’ rights in international fora since 2016

This report from the Knowledge, evidence and learning for development (K4D) helpdesk examines evidence available on lack of progress in advancing gender equality and women’s rights as well as withdrawal of existing rights and freedoms. It examines the impact of conservative political movements and shares evidence of pushback and backlash in international and regional fora. It considers sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), alliances, strategies, language and rhetoric, and provides case studies with detailed examples.
