Youth and capability development: research summary

This resource is a research summary on youth and capability development, building on evidence from five cities across Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Nigeria and Somalia. The research uncovered prevalent systemic barriers hindering young people in African cities from fulfilling their potential, particularly within social welfare systems and politics. The findings also show that the key social systems provide limited support to young people transitioning into adulthood, yielding the need for reform.
