Justice denied: fighting widespread impunity for conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV)

The Justice Denied: Fighting Widespread Impunity for Conflict-Related Sexual Violence conference will be held in Melbourne, Australia, between 2-3rd June 2025.

The two day conference aims to create a platform for  dialogue and reflection on conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) in the Indo-Pacific region. It will present emerging research and policy solutions and share diverse perspectives and experiences on CRSV within the region. The event is aimed at CRSV scholars and students, practitioners, civil society advocates and policymakers working on prevention of, and responses to CRSV.

The themes of the conference are:

  • violence targeting ethnic minorities, LGBTQI+ and politically active women
  • evidence collection and ethical reporting
  • survivor-centred responses to justice
  • legal responses and accountability mechanisms
  • reforming security and military institutions
  • peacekeeping operations
  • peace processes, peacebuilding and CRSV
  • access to humanitarian services
  • bridging the gap: CRSV research into policy and practice.
