The Sexual violence research initiative (SVRI) forum will be held between 21-25th October in Cape Town, South Africa.
The SVRI is a conference focused on violence against women, violence against children, and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality in low and middle-income countries.
Held every 2 years, the SVRI forum brings together researchers, practitioners, policymakers, donors, survivors and others to share and learn about new research, developments and innovations in the area of prevention of sexual violence. It is the largest abstract driven conference dedicated to research on prevention of and response to violence against women in all their diversity and violence against children.
The themes of the 2024 conference are:
- Understanding VAW and VAC in their multiple forms
- VAW and VAC prevention and response research and programmes
- Advancing the science: Methods and measures
- Response and prevention programmes focusing on perpetration of VAW and VAC, and men who use violence
- Childhood sexual violence
- Integrating mental health, self-care and collective care in research and practice
More information about the event and registration details can be found on the SVRI Forum's website.
