Participation for Humanitarian Innovation: toolkit

This toolkit shares guidance on how to implement participatory approach within research and innovation projects, for, with, and by people affected by crisis. It also sets out how to monitor levels of participation in research and innovation projects.

The toolkit is composed of five tools:

  1. Opportunity Adviser:  helps identify and prioritise the desired benefits of participation while weighing the potential barriers
  2. Participation Matrix: shares guidance on how to set the degree of participation at a given project stage
  3. Resource Navigator: outlines available tools and processes, explaining which are the best to address the needs of stakeholders, the project objectives and the context
  4. Quality Guidance: to helps ensure high standard of activities, projects and programmes
  5. Assessment Matrix: for the evaluation of participation achieved during an activity or project phase
