Multidimensional poverty, gender, and forced displacement: a multi-country, intrahousehold analysis in sub-Saharan Africa

This resource examines multidimensional poverty among displaced populations. It brings together three key issues: multidimensional poverty, forced displacement and gender. The analysis builds on the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) from Ethiopia, Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Sudan, which examines the situation faced by women and men in forcibly displaced households. It also synthesises the intrahousehold dynamics of multidimensional poverty in forcibly displaced communities, providing insights into the educational constraints and labour market inequalities as well as different opportunities in accessing legal documentation and employment.
