This resource from the Knowledge, Evidence and Learning for Development (K4D) Helpdesk provides information on how government departments can work with civil society organisations in the delivery of international aid. It recommends ways of working which support democracy and advance the rights of marginalised and excluded people.

The resource includes a review of guidelines published by key international development funders produced between 2011 and 2021. It focuses on evidence related to cooperation on specific issues and themes, including drugs policy and human rights, and work in specific regions.
