This policy brief explores the rise in gender-based violence (GBV) and insecurity in the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh, linking it to violent dynamics along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border region. Based on an empirical study conducted between April and June 2024, it highlights the need for holistic responses that go beyond conventional GBV interventions by addressing the roots and cross-border drivers of violence and insecurity affecting refugees, particularly women and girls.
