Excluded from the excluded: people with intellectual disabilities in (and out of) Official Development Assistance

This resource provides an analysis of the inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities and their families in Official Development Assistance and an analysis on funder compliance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It found that the majority of Official Development Assistance funding – 99.8% – did not include people with intellectual disabilities, and over a third of the  Official Development Assistance -funded projects that did include people with intellectual disabilities were not compliant with United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The resource urges action from donors to ensure that the commitment to disability-inclusive development is also fulfilled for people with intellectual disabilities.
