The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a human rights treaty adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in 2006. It aims to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities. In addition to ratifying the convention, member states committed to meet regularly to consider any matters regarding the implementation of the document. The Conference of states parties to the convention on the rights of persons with disabilities (COSP) is an annual event held for this purpose.
