Resource pack: conversations on gender and tax

This resource pack from the Knowledge, Evidence and Learning for Development (K4D) programme explains how tax policy, administration and research can promote women’s equality and empowerment through being ‘gender aware’.

The resource highlights the role of civil society organizations in advocating for gender-sensitive taxation policies. It emphasizes their ability to educate female taxpayers about the intersectionality of taxation and gender, collaborate with governments to integrate gender considerations into tax policies, and monitor the equitable provision of services related to taxation. Moreover, specialised civil society organizations are highlighted for their capacity to conduct gender-specific analyses of taxation and budgetary allocations, furthering the understanding of how tax policies impact different genders.
