This resource is the political declaration made by over 50 countries and the UN at the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict (PSVI) Conference held in London in 2022. It sets out the joint action they will take to end sexual violence in conflict, including by strengthening the global response and preventing conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) from occurring by addressing the drivers of violence. It also sets out the action they will take to respond to CRSV, including strengthening justice and making holistic and meaningful support available to survivors, children born of conflict-related sexual violence, and affected communities.
These commitments are framed within a broader framework of gender-based violence and implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security.
