Integrating gender into the design, implementation and monitoring of carbon credit projects

This practical guidance supports project developers in integrating gender equity into carbon credit initiatives, moving beyond a ‘Do No Harm’ approach to ensure benefits for all genders. Developed under the Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) programme , and divided into three sections, it outlines key principles, project processes, and strategies to strengthen gender equity in carbon crediting. It provides case studies, key resources, and links to tools like the Natural Climate Solutions Alliance’s Buyers’ Guide, which helps corporate buyers conduct gender due diligence on carbon credit purchases.
