ABCD of safeguarding

This resource aims to provide civil society organisations with a simple means of remembering key facts about safeguarding. The infographic focuses on four areas referred to as the ABCD of safeguarding:

  • accountability
  • building understanding
  • confidentiality
  • do no harm

This resource explains who is responsible for safeguarding programme participants, community members and survivors from unsafe practices and safeguarding harm, including sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment (SEAH). This infographic can be used by organisations working in both humanitarian and international development settings.

Whilst the resource was produced for use in Nigeria, it can be used globally. It is available in English, Igbo, Hausa and Yoruba.
