Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) programme: gender and acute food insecurity

This report examines the intersections between gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and food security. It explores the following areas:

• links between gender equality, women’s economic empowerment and food insecurity and its effects on responses to acute food insecurity
• importance of meaningful engagement of women in activities around acute food insecurity prevention and response
• key policy implications and ways to promote gender equality and women’s economic empowerment in relation to food insecurity prevention and response.
