Gender-based violence (GBV) shelters provide secure accommodation for women and children who are at risk of or have experienced GBV. This document provides a summary of the evidence and lessons learned on the management of GBV shelters, focusing on evidence from East Africa and drawing on lessons from low- and middle-income countries globally.
