Discriminatory law reform: how legal barriers affecting women’s economic empowerment can be overcome

This resource is an evidence review which outlines how discriminatory laws affect women's economic empowerment, both directly and indirectly. It presents  lessons learned on how to eliminate legal barriers to women’s full and equal participation as employees, managers and business owners, drawing on examples that have proved effective. This resource was used to inform the UK policy response to the Biarritz Partnership for Gender Equality that emerged from the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council (2019) and calling on countries to “identify and abolish discriminatory laws” to this call.
